Touchtype
Touchtype is an accessible on-screen keyboard for Android devices, inspired heavily by that found in Apple's IOS. Open source released under the Apache 2.0 license, Touchtype is useful even without the on-screen keyboard, as it also solves several accessibility flaws in Android's input-handling.
Features
- Accessible on-screen keyboard featuring all alphanumeric characters and most common and uncommon symbols. No longer do you need a physical keyboard to type, though some sort of navigation controls are still required.
- Works with any current Android screen reader.
- Provides spoken feedback when arrowing through text fields. Arrow left or right to hear the previous or next character, up or down to hear the previous or next line.
- Optionally provides spoken feedback for shift and alt keys, along with common Android action keys. No longer waste time wondering what buttons you've pressed on that new phone, then disable the feedback when you no longer need it.
